Mark Kilian | Principal

Hi, my name is Mark Kilian. If I have managed not to bore you yet, you are probably wondering "who is this guy". Well I can tell you one thing, I am not your typical tech geek. I am an adventurer at heart & a firm believer that since we spend so much of our lives working - it better be something we truly love to do & I love technology. After graduating college with a degree in engineering, I found myself at a very young age traveling the world and moving up the corporate ladder. I volunteered for the work no one else wanted to do. By 28 I was a director in one of the fastest growing companies in the USA. At 38 I had one of those life defining moments. After spending several months in China - I sat in my office, looked at the four walls and wondered "is this really it ?" "Is this what I want to do with the rest of my life?" - as it turns out, no, it wasn't. I quit, left a very high paying job in Chicago and moved to Arizona. And I did it in less than a month!

My view of business is very much like my view of life in general. It's an adventure. I have never been one to work solely to chase money - all the money in the world isn't worth it if the work is meaningless. For me, it's more about investing in helping others succeed and seeing the fruits of my labor. Of course, that has earned me a great living over the years. In big corporations, I was buried in bureaucracy - so I left and started 6IXGUN. 20 years later and have no regrets !

So you are probably thinking by now "what does this guy charge" ? Well, let's put it this way, I compete regularly with large agencies that are billing their time at $280+ per hour. My rate is $85 per hour - relatively unheard of in my world. I do have some caveats, but for the most part, I do not turn down work if I feel it is a good fit for both of us. I do not do pro bono work, however I have been known to be pretty generous with my time. Hire me and I promise you will not be disappointed. I almost always end up doing far more than what I was originally hired to do.

Adventure On, Mark
